Computer Warranties - Worth the Money?

I have heard the phrase that if a computer is to wrong it will happen in the first 12 months, but how true is this?

Apple's 3 year warranty - $249 - unlimited tech support/covers hardware(parts/labor), but does not cover accidental damage.

Is it worth the warranty?

In general, warranties are a bad idea(there is a reason why they push them so hard.....they are pure profit).

The exception for me is laptops-and only if the warranty covers the display. We have about 30 laptops at the office & we're winning the game when it comes to display warranties. Without a warranty, the cost to replace the display will often be more than the laptop is worth.

if you plan on downloading from free sites whether music or porn just make sure you have ALL YOUR DISK. screw the warranty
